Mel Bond had a team and they were ministering in Chinandega, Nicaragua in January 2000. They were meeting in a town square and there were between 3000 and 3500 people in attendance. Mel had brought a couple of women up to the front who were blind and prayed for them. They both received their sight. There was a mother in the audience who pushed her way forward with her daughter who was six or seven years old. Her daughters eyes were white with a lumpy fatty material where the eyes should be and she was totally blind. There was no eyeball or even a semblance of an eyeball. The mother asked Mel “Can your God heal my daughter?” I told her “of course my God can.” He was convinced that all things are possible with God. Mel closed his eyes so he could focus and prayed as Jesus had taught him. Although Mel’s eyes were closed the minister behind him, Pastor Eddie Rogers, saw white tornadoes or whirlpools come and rest over each eye. That went on for 60 to 90 seconds. When Mel stopped praying the tornadoes were gone and there were two beautiful brown eyes. The girl looked so different that when Mel opened his eyes he thought someone had switched the little girl out with another while he was praying. Pastor Rogers could testify that it was the same girl. She turned and saw her mother for the first time. Everyone was crying. Pastor Rogers testifies it was the most amazing miracle he’s ever seen.
