Marlene Klepees was born prematurely at less than two pounds at birth. She developed cerebral palsy and was crippled. Then when she was two years old her parents were killed in a motorcycle accident. She lived with her great grand- parents, foster families, and grand-parents. At 12 years old some teens brought her to a youth meeting where she gave her life to Christ. She assumed she had cerebral palsy because God had made her that way.
Marlene struggled as she moved into her teenage years and began to have violent spasms. They were so bad that caregivers ended up with broken bones. After one spasm she was left almost totally paralyzed, and her grandparents were even told she was brain dead. Her vision was getting progressively worse and she felt her life was unbearable.
As a last resort she was taken to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota. They could not help her in the three months that she stayed there. Marlene was about to be sent to a nursing home with no hope of improvement. She cried out to God. She felt a warmth come over her and envelope her. Then God gave her a vision that she would be healed. He showed her who would pray for her, what he would be wearing, what she would be wearing, what the inside of the church looked like, and even gave her a date – March 29th.
At Marlene’s insistence her nurse helped her look through the yellow pages at churches and a single ad for an Open Bible Church glowed on the page. She knew this was the right one. The nurse didn’t believe it and slammed the telephone book down. Later the nurse would call the pastor and give him the room number, but not the hospital name.
The pastor wasn’t sure about it, but sought out Marlene. When he arrived Marlene told him he looked identical to the man who prayed for her in the vision. Emmerson agreed to pray for and arranged for her to be brought to his church. She had to be strapped in because she was shaking so violently.
Pastor Emmerson had never had a miracle take place in his church. There were only 7 people in the Sunday night service. People gathered around her to pray. Emmerson anointed her with oil and asked God to heal Marlene from the top of her head to the tip of her toes. Then he asked Marlene if she wanted to stand up on faith. Immediately as she began to stand Marlene felt strength come into her legs. When her feet touched the floor she felt the floor for the first time in her life. He knees and toes were pointed inward but with each step they straightened out. She got stronger and stronger with each step. She took a few steps on her own then was literally running around the church.God told her to take off her glasses and her eyesight was miraculously healed as well.
She returned to the Mayo Clinic walking, something she had never done since she had been admitted to the unit. She was discharged the next day. When she returned for a checkup a few weeks later she had improved even more. ALL signs of any abnormality were gone! Even a brain scan showed no signs of past palsy. She was walking normally and had better than 20/20 vision.
Marlene’s life has been normal since that time. She regularly shares her testimony and prays for the sick. She can do everything a healthy person can do. Her life is totally restored.
