In the late 1930s General John J. Pershing was in a coma due to complications from several diseases and was not expected to live. God spoke to Charles David Peck to go and pray for Pershing. Peck was well known as a radio minister and Church of God in Christ* leader who oversaw congregations in Philadelphia, Detroit, Cleveland, and Baltimore, as well as his home area of Buffalo. The next morning, after receiving prayer from Peck, Pershing awoke from his coma. Within two weeks he was out of the hospital and declared in good health. Pershing lived 8 more years. In those years Pershing was instrumental in moving the US to support Britain against Germany.
