Report of Healing in Paris Through James Moore Hickson

A prominent Parisian actress, wounded in the breast by a desperate lover whom she had refused to marry, implored the healer to close her wounds and take away the ceaseless burning ache that made her days wretched and her nights a torment.

Breathlessly the congregation awaited the action of the healer, that religious man who sought to practice literally the principles of Christianity. What would be his attitude toward tills woman of the stage whoso profession was to please the frivolous’?

“In this atmosphere of tense, repressed excitement and amid un awe inspiring silence, Mr. Hickson laid hands on the beautiful stage favorite, whoso face had become as white as the petals of gardenia, and prayed! He asked no questions, made no exhortations. He simply accepted her plea for spiritual assistance and used all the power he believed himself to command in helping a sufferer regain her strength and health.

At length the laying-on of hands was over. Preacher and actress faced each other. Suddenly the woman tore open the high-necked dress that hid the wounds reaching almost to the middle of the throat. “The slashes so mercilessly inflicted by the crazed man’s knife were still open, but these were no longer red and angry looking! They were paler and showed every sign of healing. It is now said that the actress has become perfectly well, and that these gashes, which had remained open for nearly eleven mouths, healed within two weeks of Mr. Hickson’s treatment – leaving no scar.
