In a meeting in Karlsruhe, Germany the following testimony was sent to Tommy Hicks two years after he held a meeting there.
I suffered from Leukemia in a dying condition. The pains were terrible. I was on the verge of death, it was an affair of a few minutes. On December 28, 1955 I was carried on a stretcher into a Tommy Hicks meeting in the Sporthalle on the Beplaz (fairgrounds). Brother Hicks prayed for with, together with the whole congregation, but I felt no better. Immediately the thought flashed through my mind: Now I have been prayed for by the evangelist. Now I have to turn my faith loose and have to act upon my faith. I threw both arms back, went down to the platform, trembling and shaking, and walked alone without anybody helping me. Only now I realized how the malady left my heart and stomach. I stood still, later I grasped my pillow, ran to the platform and praised God for his wonderful salvation and Grace. Since that day I attended the meetings every night. Today I am completely well (August 1, 1957). Hallelujah!
