Lam Jeevaratnam

Filed under: Notes and Updates - Healing and Revival Site — Admin @ 8:08 pm

We’ve been contacted by family members of Lam Jeevaratnam. They have been kind enough to provide a couple of the pre-salvation advertisements for him. It appears that prior to his salvation he had been married in India, but got involved with a woman from England. He went through a marriage ceremony with her and had two children. Once saved though he left her and returned to India and his family there. Whether out of guilt, or other reasons, he never contacted his English family again. This is certainly a very sad aspect a man’s life who preached the gospel on three continents.

  1. There are twenty members of Lam Jeevaratnam’s English branch of the family – two sons (Keith and Peter born in 1924 and 1926) then grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. The latest one was born this week on July 17th, 2006 – a girl, Sage Norwood in Linslade, England.

  2. Hi ,

I am John Sanjeev, Greatgrandson of Mr.Lam Jeevaratnam . I am so happy to find the descendants of him after a very very long time .

According to the sayings of my father and many other elders I heard that Mr.Jeevaratnam had burned all his painting and never ever thought of painting again after the Holy call from the Lord Jesus Christ. I have some of his pictures with me. He had 3 sons and as of today his descendants are over 40 members.

  3. Thanks to John Sanjeev and the Healing and Revival website, the English and Indian descendants of Lam Jeevaratnam are now in contact! I live in Canada, and many of my new-found relations live in the United States, so I am hoping that there will be some meetings in the near future.

  4. The first meeting between the Indian and English branches of Lam Jeevaratnam’s family has just taken place (Sept. 2007). One of his granddaughters, Prathima, who lives in the USA, has been to visit her newly-found Uncle Peter Jeevar in Scotland en route to see other family members in India. Peter is a half-brother (as is my father Keith) of Prathima’s late father, Lam James Victor, whom, sadly, he never met not knowing of Victor’s existence until just a year ago. Nor, of course, did he meet the other two Indian brothers, Abel and Wilson. But better late than never and chatting to Uncle Peter on the ‘phone today, I could tell that he was delighted to have met Prathima and her husband and that forging this link with his Indian relations has been tremendously important to him. The last time he saw his father, Lam Jeevaratnam, was eighty years ago, in Leeds, England.

  5. I am delighted to report that in April, 2015 I finally met my cousin, Prathima (Jijji) Francis at her home on Long Island. We are both granddaughters of Lam Jeevaratnam. It was a significant event for me, to actually touch one of the descendants of the Indian line of the family and to chat/skype with three of her sisters. Many older members of the family would prefer to keep the English episode of Lam Jeevaratnam’s life in the dark but the younger members are delighted to embrace the story.
